I have to agree with ya, Dean, but all the local homeless critters have spread the word that a home and a snack can be found here. We don't adopt them, they find and adopt us. We currently have Max ( he's the alpha), Oscar, Sully, Hermie, Samson, Possum, and Norma. Norma is the only insider, but she's really pushing the envelope. She's gonna be an outsider before long if she ain't careful.

When we brought her home, though, she began ignoring her name. It took a few days, but we eventually realized that she also ignored "no" and that "Snow" sounded like "no." So, we renamed her Lucky. Whoever owned her before went to the trouble of teaching her to do a high five. I can't imagine why they didn't try to find her. LOL @ ingnoring her name AND NO. Our pet families like to do that! Fortunately, I'm more stubborn than my cats. ;D I wonder if they couldn't afford her anymore and so prayed she found a good home. I would not desert my pets. I'd at least take them to my vet's office so they might find a good home for them.

Hell, it's what she does daily. I can't remember the last time I slept past 4:30 in the morning. I'm an early riser anyway, but damn! She doesn't understand "Saturday, dammit!"

Three cats, three dogs, four horses, and a bird. I think I live in a zoo!!!! Not that I would have it any other way, of course.

Yeah, but the husband's messier. ;D Except for Keith and Jamey. They are the exceptions.

Would you like to borrow my fire grate to put in front of your door to keep her out? Then you can sleep as late as you want. I hate to rub it in but my cats let me sleep until 9:00 a.m. They wake me around 6 or so but I tell them to shut up and hiss at them "sssssssssssssss" and go back to sleep and they let me sleep. Most days. Once in awhile they won't but they usually will. Of course, I always have dry food out for them so they're never starving. I prayed and God answered. So maybe that's what you'll have to do--and leave dry food outside your door on Friday nights. ;D

Wait a minute Nicole...Buddy is NOT a horse...he's a 3 year old child in a 2200 lb equine body!

And what happened to Buddy, your Avatar. I love looking at that horse and imagining how mischievous he is.

I don't know what happened to my avatar. It just disappeared one day? Buddy probably hacked the computer and took it. I'll have to repost it.

Keith, thankfully, Doyle (that's the name the shelter gave him) is an inside cat and actually, he's really a well-behaved little boy. But he does have an annoying habit of wanting to sit on my keyboard while I'm typing.

I was typing away one day and couldn't understand why my window kept closing and all kind of weird things happening. Then I noticed that my 22 lb. cat who lying beside the keyboard nonchalantly had his paw draped over the ESC key. MERCURY! But he has such a cute belly to rub.

I have no hope that the fire grate would work. She'd figure out some way to overcome that obstacle. I have faith in her perserverence.

Nothing gets in between a cat and whatever it wants. Absolutely nothing.

Hee. I have to disagree. There are ways; you just have to discover what works for you. I remember my nephew and his wife had a very large cage where the cats slept during the night. Had litter, water, food and every night the cats knew that was their bed for the night. It had little beds in it for each of them. They had three. Cats will do whatever you can get them used to but you have to be persistent and NEVER back down.
I'm thinking on embarking to trying to teach my two guys to use the toilet so I don't have to fool with kitty litter any more. Wish me luck. Since they're 4 years old, I'm not sure if I'll have luck with this.
