Hello everybody (sneeze)
sorry (blush)
Got a stinking cold so keep your distance, I am contagious!
Just want to say I enjoy critiquing the most 'cos it helps my mind focus albeit I will sometimes write a story on forums whenever I can think of one.
I am glad to see a shift to horror poetry becoming popular over the last ten years or so and look forward to reading and getting my brain into gear once again.
So hello to you all. :-)

<standing a short distance away> Hi, perc. I know you'll understand my not shaking your hand until you're better. Don't write much poetry myself but I'll try to help if I can.

I write it when I'm in my poetic mood. I may have written horrible poetry but no horror poetry--yet.

Hello, Dean (grin without breathing out germs)
I don't write much poetry any more but love it still. Thank you for your offer of help and vice-versa - if I can be of any use, holler.
BTW - I got a germ catching kit - it's a net with 10 centimetre holes - d'ya think that will work?

I also write lots and lots of horrible poetry when I'm in the mood to write poetry at all - sometimes I try to figure it out too much and then it becomes almost fantastic in its abstract horribleness. maybe we can join up some time Eri, and make a unique voice in horrible poetry. :-)
I should add I'm dyslexic as well so that should sprinkle a little more laughter to the foray.

What a lovely community! Thank you all so much for welcoming me.
Nicole, a box of tissues is on the table - um, where do I put the other 99?
Hello, Jamey and thank you. I guess you’re safe from my cold – ==[][]== um that’s a handshake, I think...
Hello, Keith, I think I shall enjoy being here for as long as you will have me. :-)
Eri – do you feel a jinx coming on? Never say never! ^.^

No jinxes here. I've already had so many colds in my life, my body should have pretty good immunity against them. Now flu... Suffice it to say, I get my shot every year.
AND, I've already been through a lot so my body is behaving itself for now.
This IS, however, a kitty site. All cats are welcome. .^ ^ = ° =

My two lie on top of the bookcase. They like to read but no books allowed on top since that's their spot.

Well I'm a dog person myself. My puppies are probably at home, snuggled up against my husband's feet. Or wrestling, or yelling at the neighbors.

Dogs are fun, too! As long as they aren't in the back yard next door barking. I used to have a dog. Unfortunately, I couldn't walk one anymore.

Heh, cats tend to sleep with us during the night, probably trying to figure out how to kill the comps and stop the keyboards clacking. Our dogs on the other hand stay snuggled up together downstairs in their bed although they will sneak up during the day and tear a duvet whenever they get a chance.
I bought them a tweed blanket for them to play with, thinking it might last at least a month or so and they shredded it within two days. They still play tug with the strips leftover, gotta love them.

yes, we have a puppy that's about 9 months old, his name is Turtles, and he LOVES paper. All kinds, all textures, and he loves dragging it through the backyard. He got an entire roll of toilet paper yesterday, and it was unrolled in a path from the bathroom through the hall, living room, out the doggie door, and into the backyard. Led us straight to him, sitting in the grass, ripping it to shreds. If it wasn't so durn funny, I'd have been mad.

Oh that is so cute.
I have twin cats that are 15 years old now and they play with the young one (male of two years old) as if they were still kittens, my life would indeed be miserable without them for they are family.

I think I still hold the record around here for the largest pride; seven total. That doesn't count boogie cat, who just comes and goes as he pleases.
I wonder if I can claim them all and get food stamps?

Hi, Perception,
I have both antivirus protection and a firewall, that should stop any nasty little cold germs.
I don't write much poetry. What I do write is probably mundane zzzzzzzzstuff.
I do write OK haikus when I'm in the mood.
I try to write literary fiction, but according to the prevailing opinion on another site, that's mundane, too.

His Norma would be worth the Admission! I love that cat and I've never seen her. Of course, I think Keith would like to strangle her in the mornings. ;D He says she's an early bird.

I didn't read far enough in this thread and missed the pet discussion. We have had dogs, cats, canaries, parakeets, turtles, crabs, goldfish, guppies, fighting betas, and an aquarium full of angel fish, tiger sharks, albino catfish, and neon tetras. I think that covers it. Right now, we have a half Lhasa apso, half poodle mix that we adopted from the humane society. She's an older dog. Somehow, someone lost her the Christmas before last. She had a microchip, but whoever owned her never registered it, so the humane society wasn't able to locate her previous owners. She went through several months when she still seemed to be looking for her previous owners and familiar signs of where she used to live, even though she was clearly happy with us. That's understandable, because they had her for almost eight years. She's settled in with us, now though. She's probably the smartest dog we've ever had and learns tricks pretty quickly, although she has the Lhasa apso stubborn streak and frequently ignores or tries to cute her way out of obedience commands like 'heel" or "sta"y or anything to do with the word "no." In fact, the humane society had named her Snow, which made sense since she is white with gray tips on her ears, and she came to them in December. When we brought her home, though, she began ignoring her name. It took a few days, but we eventually realized that she also ignored "no" and that "Snow" sounded like "no." So, we renamed her Lucky.
Whoever owned her before went to the trouble of teaching her to do a high five. I can't imagine why they didn't try to find her.
