I sent you a welcome e-mail, asking that you post in our welcome forum. I show that you have been a non-participating member before and were deleted for lack of activity. Please let us know why you rejoined and your interests. We require that members do post occasionally to remain active.
Thank you.

Okay - the original reason I could not participate was due to computer problems. Having sorted that and re-registered I then looked at the critique forums and found that there seems to be very little activity there.
I came here looking to exchange critiques - but there is next to nothing on which make any kind of exchange. Also, I have the fear that these forums are not very secure - anyone may join and have automatic access to what I would class as 'private' areas to safeguard members works-in-progress.
I would we happy to stay, but as things stand, I'm just not sure the existing set-up will work as well as other forums which have secure facilities.
I leave it in your hands to delete my membership if you wish - or - make a more secure environment where critiques could be exchanged.
Over to you . . .

Other than requiring one to register before granting access to the forums where one's work would be found, what are the other writing sites doing to secure their member's work that we have not done?
Zalso is small, but we have a couple of writers either published, or on the verge of being published. The volume of writing is not huge but, then again, neither is our membership.
We're quite comfy here. If you're not, well, you know where the door is.
Over to you.

Other sites are not more secure than we are. Anyone can join anywhere under any name they want and there is nothing to prevent anyone from stealing your work at any password protected site. Hell, there is a thief on Zoetrope I understand. All members have to be approved by me before gaining entrance here. Twice I have opened membership for a weekend to accommodate entry of some people I had invited over for flash. But the doors were immediately shut again. But even with the doors open, registration and passwords were still required before entry. That said, there is no place on the web that is safe any more. I trust our small group because we're all members of long-standing and when one of our members post work here, some of our members will usually critique although not necessarily in depth. Most of the writers here have been at it for a very long time and so, aren't necessarily looking for in-depth anyway. If it's a first draft, they just need to know overall if it works and general comments. It is up to you if you choose to try it here or not. We are a small group and will almost assuredly remain so. Post to let me know if you wish to remain here. Otherwise, I'll delete you. A couple of sites you could try are www.Zoetrope.com and stwa.net/forum/index.php (Scrawl). Their critiquing is more active and may give you what you need.
