Come on in, Alcarty, and take a look around. Tell us about yourself, what you like to write, read, do in your spare time. Whatever you feel like sharing.
Welcome to Zalso. We're a small, but intimate, forum with no particular genre. We do seem to tend a bit toward fantasy and scifi, though.
Make yourself at home.

Thanks. I'm one of the older boys on the playground, and have been writing for a long time. I've had stories and poems published online and in print. I enjoy writing mainstream and western genres. I'm putting the last touches on two novels that are looking for homes. Being retired I have writing and gardening to keep me occupied (lots of garlic and chilis;after all, this IS New Mexico) and we like to cruise the Zuni Mountains searching for the muse among the pinyon thickets.

Congrats on the publishing credits, Alcarty! Feel free to post some of your work here, or tell us how to get to where they are published online. I'm mostly scifi myself, but I'd like to see your work.

As Keith said, congrats on the successful publishing. Please feel free to share tips and tricks for us newbies, and although I'm into fantasy, scifi, and a mix of the two, if you plan to share either styles, I'd take a look at it.

I've had stories published by Menda City Review, 42 Magazine, Written Word, The Shine Journal, 5th Story Review, Sage of Consciousness, The White Cat and others. Some are defunct but the archives still remain. The main tip I have is to keep at it. Genre aside, work is work, but make it fun. If it's not fun then you may as well get a second job that you hate. If there is someone on the site that is expert in the legal side of publishing, please let me know. I have a question about a novel that I had published. I look forward to reading everybody's work.

I forgot to mention that I was here a couple years ago for a short while, then got sidetracked in other places. I'll try it again.

I thought I recognized the name - welcome back. I think Elizabeth would probably be the apt to be able to answer your question. She's not a lawyer, I don't think, but she's experienced in this area. She'll check in before long, I'm sure.
It's a bit slow in here at the moment. There is some stuff to read, but make sure the member is still current before you bother to crit anything.
I'm not sure if you knew our Admin from your previous membership. I called her Tigger, but she was known here as Eri. She passed away earlier in the year and we've kinda been in a slump since then. She pumped life into the place, ya know?
New members do the same thing. We're glad to have ya back!

I wasn't here long enough to know anyone. My loss I didn't know her. Maybe dedicate something to her memory, perhaps an annual competition? I'm still looking for a place to roost, with folks actively chasing the muse. Trying is the thing...and then trying again. I'm saying getting on the site EVERY DAY! That's what makes me want to participate.

Welcome back Alcarty, I recognized the name too. I'm afraid I've been lacking in posts recently with the start of a new job. I should be back in the swing in a couple more weeks and can finish the Hatch update.
